The Inside Sales Representative will help increase merchant setups by working with potential merchants, assisting them through the setup and signup process. Main job functions include handling inbound sales calls and account setup. This position will also introduce and up-sell new products and value add services.
Specific Responsibilities will include:
Handle inbound sales leads received via phone, internet, and email
o Answer approx 700-800 inbound calls per month
o Present and promote to all potential merchants the Gateway and Merchant Account Programs
o Qualify leads by asking questions to assess merchant need
o Provide Specific Sales Solution for each merchant
Follow-up with prospective merchants in timely fashion
o Return calls and emails within 3 hours maximum
o Assist merchants with application questions
o Act as point of contact for agreement changes, invoicing questions, and other processes
o Send all approved follow up emails via Contact Manager system
Provide Support to merchants during setup process
o Assist merchants through online application steps
o Reply on online app's left incomplete by merchant
o Process applications once completed
o Send Billing information to Sales Coordinators
o Send Welcome Email to all merchants once setup
Gather documents for merchant account applications (including )
o Assist and coordinate merchant account application submissions to underwriting
o Reach out to merchant to obtain documents necessary for underwriting
o Follow up with merchant to ensure timely submission
o Coordinate with underwriting to ensure file is completed
Handle all application setups for Affiliate Resellers
o Answer merchant questions and setup needs
o Setup all merchant applications for GW and MA
o Assist with setup of new affiliates not using Online Application
o Process any applications for new resellers and merchants
Follow up on merchant accounts and other value add applications
o Send follow up emails to ensure merchant activation of VAS
o Assist merchant with activation and enabling of GW and all VAS
Monitor and track status of applications once received
o Provide feedback and updates to merchants as needed.
o Update sales spreadsheets and trackers in timely fashion
Work effectively with additional company departments and teams
o Coordinate with Underwriters on applications
o Work with Sales Coordinators on application setup and app submission
Takes initiative to develop skills by staying current on industry trends, product knowledge and new company developments
Maintain and achieve target goals and quotas each month
Perform other job duties as required
2-3 Successful sales experience in fast paced direct to end user or business to business environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of the bankcard industry including issuing, acquiring, transaction processing, eCommerce, Card Present, Card Not Present and ACH processing preferred but not required
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers and strong telephone etiquette skills
Strong financial acumen and salesmanship with the ability to think creatively.
Excellent presentation skills, ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, coordinate multiple activities or tasks at a time, make decisions and solve problems by using logic.
Possess excellent interpersonal, follow-up, and negotiation skills.
Must be professional, detail conscious, and possess the ability to deal with customers in a manner that shows sensitivity and tact.
Strong organizational skills demonstrated by past experience in fast paced and high volume work and business activity.
Bachelors degree preferred
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk.
Able to use a personal computer, phone and other office equipment, unassisted.
