Job Description
The primary function of the Mortgage Loan Processor is to ensure the accuracy of the documents and data in the loan file prior to underwriting. Mortgage Loan Processors coordinate with all parties to the loan transaction to ensure that loans close on-time.
Responsibilities
Examples of Key Duties:
- Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
- Verifies all data contained on the Uniform Residential Loan Application against documents provided either by the borrower or an independent third party to ensure accurate data is analyzed by the product specific automated underwriting system. All information is analyzed to determine that the loan qualifies per investor, agency or company guidelines.
- Evaluates loan file and recommends that loans not meeting standards be denied.
- Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal.
- Informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.
- Submits mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval.
- Submits approved mortgage loan file to loan closer for settlement.
- Communicates loan status and updates regularly, clearly and effectively.
- Achieve and maintain all departmental cycle time, service and volume standards
- Other tasks as assigned by the Branch Manager and/or Operations Manager.

Loan Processing: 1 yearEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
